Child Found Dead
The coroner held
an inquest yesterday at the Town Hall on the body of a
child found dead in a drain near the General Cemetery on
the 4th last. Lads were playing in the drain when their
attention was attracted by a paper parcel, which
contained the body of a newly born male child. Dr
Beaumont said the child had died from neglect at birth
and starvation.
