Insects

Schools have carried out projects in the cemetery to record the sorts of insects that live here.

ButterflyStudents have spotted hoverflies and dragonflies, and even red admirals. Red admirals are so rare that they are now a protected species.

InsectIn 1993 a study of the Porter Brook recorded water hog-lice, leeches, and nymphs of the mayfly and caddisfly.

Freshwater shrimp and river limpet were also found, which suggests that the quality of the water is good.
