The Egyptian Gateway
In the wall along Cemetery Road you will find the Egyptian
Gateway (Grade II* listed).

It is richly ornamented with designs full of symbolic meaning.
Notice, for example, the coiled snakes holding their tails
in their mouths.

English Heritage has the task of identifying and protecting
buildings of architectural or historic interest. They inspect
the buildings and award grades:

of more than special interest
