The Anglican Chapel

The Anglican chapel was completed in 1850. This chapel, unlike the other buildings, is Gothic in style rather than Classical and Egyptian.

This style is distinctive because of the pointed arch windows, the porte cochere (the large arched entrance porch), and the spire.

The spire is particularly striking - it's too big for the rest of the building. But though it's large and out of proportion, it wasn't a mistake!

The spire was deliberately designed this way so that it would be clearly seen far away.

Local resident Mr Payton-Greene speaks about his childhood memories of living near The Cemetery.
